Animated Infographic

This project is a continuation of  Project 1: Instructable Infographic

For this project, we are required to use the assets from Project 1 Instructable Infographic poster into a 60-second motion graphic. While capturing the aesthetics and narrative of the poster with movements, SFX, and music.

Fig 1.1 Storyboard

I made a simple storyboard, kind of like a story guide, to help me with my project. It's a step-by-step process for cooking the Cannelloni. This storyboard gives me a clear picture of what I need to do at each stage of making the dish.

Above is the infographic I created for my first project. Now, I'm taking the next step by digitizing the storyboard. I'm using the same elements from the infographic to build a digital version of the storyboard, keeping the visual consistency throughout the project.

I needed to include more icons and illustrations because my video is more detailed. I'm showcasing a step-by-step guide on how to prepare each part of the Cannelloni. I used Adobe Illustrator for the digitalization, creating additional icons and illustrations to enhance the informative aspect of the video.

Now, it was time to animate the infographic. I began by searching for a music track to use. After exploring options, I found a happy-sounding track that I thought would be a good fit, so I decided to go with it.

Fig 1.4 Organising Assets

After finalizing the assets, I exported them and brought them into After Effects. To keep everything organized and avoid confusion, I structured everything by creating a folder for each frame of animation. This helped maintain clarity and keep things neat throughout the process.

The next step was to animate each frame one by one. I opted for simple and neat animation styles like 'blur in,' 'fade in,' and basic position movements. This approach ensures that the information is displayed and portrayed accurately and clearly, maintaining a clean and straightforward animation style.

Next, I dedicated my attention to animating each frame, resulting in a total of 21 animated frames to complete my infographic. To ensure a harmonious flow with the music, I trimmed down each frame. This allowed enough time for viewers to read on-screen text before transitioning to the next frame, while keeping the entire animation within a concise one-minute duration. And there we have it, my animated infographic is now complete!
